About Us

Inara vom Hause Porthun
08/02/09

We own a small hobby working Rottweiler kennel located near the small city of Shawano, Wisconsin. We have fifteen acres of mostly wooded land.  Approximately one acre of our land is dedicated to a schutzhund field and training area.

I am fanatical about working Rottweilers. Over the last several years I've become very involved with working Rottweilers and the sport of schutzhund.  Considering my passion for Rottweilers and schutzhund training I began to seek out the preeminent and most proven working bloodlines in the world.  My pursuit has led me to Germany, Austria, Norway, Sweden, Denmark and Holland where I have met and learned from some of the very best trainers, breeders and handlers in the world.

Martina and her Tinka and Max daughter Hilka vom Hause Porthun

I feel extremely fortunate to have some very good friends and mentors in Germany as a result of purchasing a puppy from the working kennel "vom Hause Porthun"

My friend Heiko Frobel with his awesome dog Hajo vom Hause Porthun. Hajo is a son of Max vom Türnleberg and Tinka vom Hause Anin. Hajo is 14 months old in the photo. Helper is Udo Meier.
My friends Heiko Frobel and Martina Porthun have both been qualifiers for the ADRK German Schutzhund Championships. Heiko was Berlin/Brandenburg Regional Champion in 2001 with Franko vom Maulbeergraben and eventually finished in 6th place at the 2001 German Championship. Martina was the German Champion in 2001 with Tinka vom Hause Anin scoring a record 296/300 and later in Italy Tinka became "best female" at the World Championships.

in Pölitz, Germany
In April 2007 I traveled to Germany to purchase a puppy Inara vom Hause Porthun from the litter between Curly vom Hause Porthun, a Tinka daughter, and Ulix vom Türnleberg. (Curly was the highest scoring female at the 2005 National Championship.)  While I was in Germany Tina and Heiko took me to the schutzhund club "HSG Timmendorfer Strand, e.V." where they practice under the expert training of multiple World and National Champion Udo Meier. The quality of the training at Timmendorfer Strand is unmatched anywhere in the world.  The results speak for themselves.

Me and Inara training in Germany April 2008

In April 2008 I returned to Germany with my young bitch Inara vom Hause Porthun.  I stayed for a month and trained with Heiko and Tina at their home and also at Timmendorfer Strand.  Thanks to everyone in Timmendorf for allowing me to train with you.  I would like to say a very special thank you to Heiko and Tina for everything you have done for me.  Your advice and knowledge has positively affected every aspect of my training plan.
