Our Rottweilers

First I'd like to say that my type of Rottweiler is not for everyone.  The bloodlines of my dogs are typically producing highly driven dogs bred for sport and/or work.  This means they will likely excel in schutzhund, protection sports, personal protection, tracking, search and rescue, obedience, and agility.  These bloodlines also typically produce dogs that are territorial and/or socially dominant.  I should also say that they make great companions if they are allowed to be a part of a family and they receive fair, consistent and consequent training.  All of the Rottweilers I have owned and trained are very people oriented and they've all had an enormous desire for social contact with their family.

It's definitely not my goal or intention to breed a litter of Rottweilers to satisfy a demand for a Rottweiler that has the appearance of a Mastiff with an over exaggerated headpiece, over exaggerated size, or bred for any physical feature that will not suit well the working ability of the dog.  I have a certain type of Rottweiler that I prefer. I intend to breed Rottweilers in order to provide myself with that certain type of schutzhund dog that I like and keep a puppy from my breeding that I can compete with in schutzhund. It's also my goal to produce an example of a true working Rottweiler with a corageous, hard character and a strong desire for work, a dog with a clear head, a dog that can be a part of a family and can be a valued member of our society.  This is what a Rottweiler should be.  A Rotti is not a Mastiff or a Lab or any other breed for that matter.  It should be bred for purpose not cosmetics.  If you have a desire to own a big powerful dog but never intend to give it a job to do there are plenty of other breeds available to you to serve your specific interests.  A Rottweiler is a working dog and it must be bred for work.  If a breeder ignores this fact, then what are they breeding Rottweilers for? This is a question you have to answer for yourself...
